07 FAQ

The questions every serious sender asks before signing.

01How is CONVOY different from a regular ESP?
Regular ESPs (Mailgun, SendGrid, SES) ban high-risk verticals at the TOS layer — your account is killed within hours of your first crypto or adult send. CONVOY is a vertical-specific MTA cluster: our infrastructure, IP pools, abuse desk and ISP relationships are all sized for high-risk operators. We don't moderate vertical, we operate it.
02Do you offer a deliverability SLA?
Yes. The Scale and Enterprise plans both include a contractual inbox placement SLA — measured by independent seed inboxes across the 5 major ISPs. Miss the target two months in a row and your next month is free. Enterprise contracts include hard service credits.
03How long does migration take?
Typical migration: 6–14 days, including IP warm-up and DNS cutover. Larger lists (>10M) get a parallel-run period where you send through both providers and we cut over only after we've matched or beaten your current placement. No forced cut-over.
04What happens during IP warm-up?
Our warm-up engine schedules send volume on a per-IP, per-ISP basis — automatically ramping based on real-time engagement data from each ISP. You don't have to plan warm-up calendars by hand. Typical full ramp is 21–30 days; you can send at scale via shared warm pools while your dedicated pool warms in the background.
05Do you keep logs of message content?
No. We store envelope metadata (timestamps, addresses, ISP responses) for 30 days for diagnostic and abuse-prevention purposes. Body content is held only in memory during the send pipeline and is never persisted to disk. Optional EU-only data residency for Enterprise.
06What's your stance on spam / abuse?
We will not send unsolicited mail. Every account passes a vertical-specific review at signup: list provenance, consent records, unsubscribe mechanics, content samples. We terminate accounts that hit a 0.1% complaint rate within 7 days — this is what keeps the entire pool's reputation usable.
07Where are your MTAs located?
12 regions across NA (us-east-3, us-west-2, ca-central-1), EU (eu-west-1, eu-central-1, eu-north-1), APAC (ap-southeast-1, ap-northeast-1, ap-south-1) and three additional dark-fibre edges for redundancy. Each pool is independently routable.
